Precious - The movie by Lee Daniels

The movie takes place in Harlem, New York back in 1987, were 16-year-old Claireece Precious Jones lives together with her social loser of a mother, Mary, that for serval years have physicly and mentaly abused her and blames Precious for her shitty life without any meaning or future.

In the begining of the movie, Precious is has been impregnated by he dad, Carl and is now expecting her second child. Her first born Mongo has the Down Syndrome and is being taken care of by her grandmother.

The mother is only intrested in Precious to skip out of school, so she can get some more money by showing up at the welfare office to collect the same welfare check as her, now that she don't have a future anyway, so why try to get smarter and get a education. Like mother, like daughter!

Due to her pregnasy she is suspended from school, but her principal is trying to help her to an alternativ school were they can help her find a way to changes the direction of her life.

This alternativ school is not like any other, but a school with only one class of 6 - 8 studens. In the begining Precious is being very quried, but as she can see that the rest of the groupe is in the same boat as her, things start to move in the right direction. She is going from not being able to read to begin reading and at the same time her new teacher, Miss Blu Rain is also trying to help her metaly become a stronger person with her own personalty and appinions.

Precious gives birth to her second child and names him, Abdul. After she is coming home from the hospital, Mary delibretly drops the only 3-days-old Abdul and at the same time hits Precious. She fights back and once and for all flees her mothers appartment and is now all alone in the world. To find schelture for the night, she breaks in to the class room, were she spend the night and the next day Miss Blu Rain finds her. Miss Blu Rain takes good care of her and findes her a "in between house" while she is continues at school, so she don't have to go back to her mother.

In the process of all this Presious is introduced to the social worker, Miss Weiss who founds out about the incest and abuce she have been going through most of her life. By having good and long talks with Precious she is letting her come out with all the bad things that she have experinced and get a lot of serious and heart breaking things of her chest.

In the end of the movie Precious have one last meeting with her mother at Miss Weiss office were she is told that her dad have died of AIDS. Mary is trying to tell her life story and ask Precious to move back home with her, but that is way to late after all that she have done to her ... for Precious her mother is dead.

Precious is a strong, but a very young woman. Eventhough she is leave everything what is bad behind her and starts over by her self and with her children that she loves so much while she still attents school.

Avatar - The movie by James Cameron

Avatar is taking place in a future alien world on the planet, Pandora.

In the begining of the movie we are introduced to the former Marine Jake Sully, who has agreed to travel light years away to this remote outpost of Pandora. On the planet of Pandora a large corporation are mining for a very rare mineral that will help solving the Earth's energi crisis.

Jack have been paralyced from the waist down and is therfor confined to a wheelchair, but this is not stopping him now that he is a Marine by heart.

On Pandora the atmosfere is toxic and the only way humans can breath is by oxigine maskes. However Jack is introduced to the Avatar program in which humans can be "transformed" into the local natives of Pandora - the Na'vi.

Jack's mission is to infiltrate the Na'vi and learn as much as possible about them. The reason is that the humans is planing to take over the area, because of the findings of a huge site of minerals were the Na'vi is living.

At first the Na'vi is very hostile towards Jack Sully, be course they see him as a threat and half human. But after some time they start to trust him and treat him as he was one of them. Jack is introducede to a fimale Na'vi named, Neytiri, who is teaching him the Na'vi way of living and after she saves Jack's life everything changes. They fall in love.

Jack is learning to respect the Na'vi and realise how wrong it is for the corporation to exploit the resorses of the planet, Pandora and how the humans are trying to make the Na'vi to leave the area were the Na'vi is living.

In the end of the movie the conflict between the humans and the Na'vi have turned into a battle, where Jack Sully is leading the Na'vi to hard, but righteous victory.

This is one of the most impressive movies that I have ever seen. Not just because for the movie being in 3D, but also that it have taken James Cameron 15 years from the time he first wrote the script until the movie came out - all because the technology was not ready to do what he wanted it to do.

When James Cameron wrote the script it was attentet to be a trilogy and have already pronounced that there will be made a Avatar II in the near future and perhaps also a third movie in a few years from now.

My first blog ...

This is my very first blog that I have created on my own ... not even my beautiful, good looking and very smart wife have helped me doing this.

Actually, I am very proud of myself ... okay, drop the bullshit! It was a pice of cake!

This is the begining for me becoming a better english reader and writer and from the help of my sweet and gorgeous wife, hopefully in the future, I will be able to pass the test witch is required to enter the level of University.
